Royal Agricultural Society of England

Our objectives

The Royal Agricultural Society of England is an independent charitable organisation dedicated to agriculture, land management and to shaping a strong rural economy. Our motto of “Practice with Science” represents the Society’s “core purpose”: encouraging and stimulating agricultural innovation, knowledge and technology transfer and the application of good science and promoting best practice with the emphasis on profitable and environmentally sound production and land management.

The Society, through its “Practice with Science” work, seeks to facilitate informed debate about the future of farming, the environment and the rural economy, by:-

  •  Producing reports which highlight information on topics of strategic importance (such as soil/soil science);

  • Acting as a crucial conduit between science, technology and practical application;

  • Staging policy seminars on subjects of importance for farming’s continued success

 The RASE awards recognise excellence in science and technology, the environment and land and business management and are open both to members and non members.
