The Royal Horticultural Society is the leading gardening charity dedicated to advancing horticulture and promoting good gardening.

Our mission is to be the leading organisation demonstrating excellence in horticulture and promoting gardening. We exist to produce advice, knowledge, skills and services to all who possess an interest in gardening and horticulture.

Education is a key part of the Society’s charitable work.

The RHS aims to share practical knowledge and information with all gardeners, whatever their age or experience. A number of bursaries are offered each year to assist horticulturalists to finance specific horticultural projects including overseas travel.

Scientific research and provision of horticultural advice are closely linked; in addition to dealing with advisory requests, advisors and scientists are engaged in a range of in-house and collaborative projects.

We support and host a range of MSc and PhD students working on research projects relevant to our scientific interests.

RHS has direct linkage of science through interpretation into practice by a membership of 360,000 and the wider gardening public.
