Kingston Maurward College (KMC) was established in 1949 and is a major training provider in Dorset, with a wealth of educational and skills development experience gained from working alongside public, private and voluntary partners in the delivery of learning to young people, adults and businesses. 

KMC is a specialist college supporting individuals and organisations working in modern land-based industries, conservation and across the rural economy. The college recognises that the sector is a diverse, vibrant and expanding one, and believes it can provide excellent resources in a modern environment. KMC is a Landex member.

The 300 hectare college estate includes commercial farms, state of the art Learning Resources Centre, laboratories and practical workshops. Catering for all levels of learning, the curriculum is designed to respond to the evolving nature of the environment, land-based industries and local businesses.

 The College recognises the drivers of change in the sector such as climate variation, renewable energies, conservation and the need for more sustainable work practices. Endeavouring to enable more young people and adults to play a key role in managing the emerging rural landscape, we encourage sensitive animal and land stewardship and production in order to meet the demanding environmental targets of tomorrow.

 Our excellent and committed academic staff care deeply about the learning and teaching afforded to our students. The friendly and caring environment we provide for our students is reflected in many ways, particularly in the growing strength of the HE student community.

 We continue to invest in the estate to provide the best possible facilities for our learning, teaching and research activities.  We believe that we can also make a vital contribution by helping develop those already in work who need to acquire new skills, and by creating knowledge that will help businesses and communities to flourish.
