Garden Organic

Promoting organic growing and composting, citizen science and research, and seed conservation.

Garden Organic

Garden Organic is the working name of the Henry Doubleday Research Association.

Through campaigning, advice, community work and research, our aim is to get everyone growing ‘the organic way’. Our mission is to grow a movement that takes practical action to conserve seeds, nurture soil and wildlife, and reduce waste.

Garden Organic is the United Kingdom’s leading organic growing charity; we’ve been at the forefront of the organic horticulture movement for more than 50 years and are dedicated to researching and promoting organic gardening, farming and food.

Our scientific research aims to develop and improve techniques used in organic agriculture and to advance the knowledge of organic production systems, focussing on commercial organic horticulture in temperate areas and on sustainable agriculture in developing countries.
