Dartington Cattle Breeding Trust

Dartington Cattle Breeding Trust (the Trust) is a registered charitable trust with the stated objectives, including: ‘ to improve the quality and health of livestock in Great Britain for the benefit of the public by furthering research, disseminating the useful results of research, supporting new entrants to livestock farming and others developing their livestock enterprises, and otherwise furthering education in livestock breeding, animal husbandry and related subjects.’

To satisfy the objective, the Trust in recent years has awarded up to £50,000 in total annual grants towards research and education annually through:

  • Educational Bursaries
  • Nuffield Farming Scholarships
  • Capital Grants
  • Research projects
  • Devon YFC travel programme
  • Cattle Lameness Conference & Foot Health Day
  • Farmwise Devon, Farm & Country day Cornwall, Kingfisher Award Cornwall.
