The college has its origins in the formation of the Yorkshire Institute of Agriculture which first accepted students in 1948. It became Askham Bryan College of Agriculture and Horticulture 19 years later. We are one of the country’s foremost land-based colleges and provide education and training at all levels from introductory courses for school leavers right up to honours degrees. Our beautiful residential campus at York is only four miles from the historical city centre. Askham Bryan is a Landex member.
The College offers a wide and diverse programme of activities to include equine and animal management, countryside and land management, business, sustainable food production, vet nursing, engineering and bioscience. These are supported by extensive grounds with woodlands, a horticultural unit, a farm and excellent outdoor sports facilities.
We have campuses in York, Middlesbrough, Saltaire, Wakefield and Gateshead.
