How we operate
AHDB, Potatoes is funded by growers and processors through statutory levies. Its objectives are derived from the overarching objectives agreed by the AHDB board. The current R&D strategy  can viewed in full at www.potato.org.uk/node/214, and its primary aim is to deliver against improving efficiency and productivity in the industry, and improving ways in which the industry contributes to sustainable development. Research priorities were identified by industry consultation. The main areas of funding are for research projects which meet the objectives and industry priorities outlined in the R&D Strategy, and knowledge transfer activities associated with the research programme.

Current opportunities
AHDB, Potatoes R&D issues specific invitations to tender for research work; calls for proposals; and at some times during the year will also receive speculative proposals from research contractors.
